Ways to Donate
There are several ways you can support Sweetpea Friends of Rutland Animals. These range from direct financial gifts to donations that we receive because of how you shop online, through employer gift matching programs, and more. See below for the range of ways in which you can support our return to operation.
Recurring gifts are critical to our success as they provide us with a predictable revenue stream that usually goes towards our mortgage, insurance, utilities, and etc.. Unless we’re running a special campaign, your one-time gift may go towards either shelter construction costs or operational expenses. We pay no salaries or benefit costs, everyone here is a volunteer.
We accept donations by check, through PayPal & PayPal Giving Fund, and through a payment system called GiveButter. You can learn more about why we use multiple platforms in this blog post.

PayPal giving fund
When you donate to PayPal giving fund, your tax receipt will come from them. They hold the money a couple weeks and then donate the money to us. They don’t deduct fees and don’t ask you to cover them, they cover that (probably) from the interest they earn holding the money a couple weeks.
Recurring Gifts
As a Sweetpea Champion, your recurring gift of as little as $5/month provides an important, regular revenue stream that supports our ongoing efforts to return to operation
One Time Gift
Make a one-time gift at any time by credit/debit card, PayPal, Venmo, or through an ACH withdrawal from a checking account. You can designate that a gift is in memory of, or in honor of, someone special to you.
Donor Advised Funds
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a type of charitable giving account that allows individuals to contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a public charity, such as Fidelity Charitable, and then recommend grants to any eligible IRS-qualified public charity over time. Let us know if we need to connect with your DAF.
Company Matching Gifts
Many companies match charitable contributions by their employees. Check with your HR or Benefits Department to see if your company matches donations. Often you just need to just upload your receipt through your HR department’s website for us to receive the matching gift.

You can find GoFundMe opportunities posted by us and benefit drives from our friends.
AMAZon wish list
You can help us out by buying items from our Amazon wish list. You can ship directly to the shelter with this service.
Support Sweetpea without out-of-pocket spending
The platforms below let you support us with no out-of-pocket spending on your part. If you use any of these platforms or services, you can identify Sweetpea Friends of Rutland Animals as your preferred charity and the vendor will periodically send us donations based on the criteria of their program. We never receive information about your transactions, account balances, or use of their products or services. They look at the activity of people who signup and send us an aggregate payment based on the combined activity of all Sweetpea supporters.
